Church Secretary
Being Church Secretary is more about supporting ‘Church’ than being a ‘Secretary’. I’m a key contact between our congregation and our community, locally and wider afield. I support the work of the Minister, Elders and staff team forming a link between them and all in the congregation. I help make the Church tick!
Dave Dennis
Children, Youth and Family Worker
He is our Children, Youth & Family Worker, plays a vital role in engaging with families and young people. Through creative programmes and events, he fosters a welcoming environment where children and youth can explore their faith, build friendships, and grow in their understanding of God’s love.
Elders
The church has chosen a group of ordained Elders who, guided and inspired by the Spirit, meet regularly to lead the church. The group plans strategically and sets up small groups to lead specific initiatives. They have oversight of the vision for the church and its community in Highbury Vale, the worship, outreach, finances, infrastructure and pastoral concerns. They also lead the church in our concern for world mission and service.
Elders are ordained for life but can retire from the active eldership. We have several non-serving elders who still contribute a great deal to the life of the church. There are currently 18 serving elders.
Elders are available for ministry. Please contact any one of them and they will try to help through prayer, practical help or by signposting you to the minister or another elder/member of the congregation who might be able to help.
